Villa Zaguri is a stunning 16th century architectural complex located in Altichiero, a neighborough just outside the town of Padua. Served for centuries as the summer mansion of the patrician family Zaguri, a dinasty of warriors in the Serenissima Republic, in 1805 it was left as a present to the city of Vicenza by Pietro Marco Zaguri, bishop of Venice. The complex is pretty articulate: it includes the main building - a two - stories ending in an attic - plus other volumes like the canteen, the oratory, and the barchessa. The front facade, facing the river, is beautifully decorated with three -mullioned windows and a vault door, the other one overlooks a vaste park.
A series of magnificent frescoes made in the 18th century, and fragments of previous, 16th century paintings recalling the “grottesche” found in Domus Aurea, adorn the hall and the surrounding rooms. The recent renovation has transformed the villa in a splendid multi-functional palace, provided with state of the art equipment. Lunches, formal dinners, meetings, shows and cultural happenings find the most appropriate location here, with two vaste halls, a beautiful 200 mq attic, and12 rooms at disposal to satisfy any particular requirement. Additional rooms and a big portico overlooking the garden are available in the nearby barchessa.
Aside from the charm and elegance of the villa, the functionality of the equipment makes it the proper location for meetings and conferences. All rooms are furnished with modern infrastructures suitable for audio-video systems, internet connection, and all the latest technical devices. Two fully-furnished kitchens are available for catering. The space once occupied by the oratory, decorated with a beautiful vault, hosts a private suite. The mansion, located close to Padova Ovest exit, is easily reachable from the highway.
