The villa of Earls “della Torre” rises not far away from the country of Morsano in Friuli on the banks of Tagliamento river. The origins of the distinguished feudal family go back to the French Napoleone della Torre; between the personalities that imparted lustre to the lineage there are three patriarchs of Aquileia, a cardinal some bishops and prelates as well as valiant knights. The complex has endured recently an important conservative restoration, which was able to conjugate the modern requirements with the spice and the atmosphere of an old and noble residence.
The external arrangement of the Italian style garden to south, of the threshing floor to north and of the fountains add a particular note of fascination. The “piano nobile” of the villa offers a spacious central hall with valuable decorations of the late XVIII century. All the flat conserves the nineteenth-century paving in wood tables, the original girder and two rooms with an unusual and elegant decoration frescoed to drapes of the first years of the XIX century.
The ground floor offers two widths halls directly connected to the garden, yields a lot plesant by original girders and amusing decoration with agrestic scenes by Ciro Cristofoletti. The Chapel dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul of fifteenth-century origin is consacred and can accommodate about thirty places to seat. Valuable is the fresco of the 1511 representing the Holy Trinity between St. Rocco and St. Sebastiano, protectors from the plague.
