At Stra, not far from Venice and Padua, along the river Brenta, stands Villa Foscarini Rossi, a 17th century architectural complex consisting of 3 buildings. The entity was realized, in the late 1500s, by Architect Vincenzo Scamozzi commissioned by the aristocratic venetian family Foscarini. During the neo-classical period the master’s villa was rearranged by arch. Jappelli. A few areas - the Gothic and Egyptian rooms - were richly frescoed by Jappelli’s students. Today, after an accurate restoration, the staterooms of the Foresteria are animated by various gathering events.
The Foresteria is formed by a big central Lounge, the original core of the structure, and two side wings. The prestigious stateroom that once hosted balls and receptions, was decorated in 1652 by various artists, among which Domenico de Bruni and Pietro Liberi, for the wedding of Zambattista Foscarini and a Soranzo.
Today, like in the past, the Lounge with its 170 sq.m. area can welcome up to 200 guests, and with extension to the side halls (400 sq.m.) can host 350 people. Thanks to the modern equipment provided therein, the halls can be prepared for various events (conferences, meetings, gala dinners, cocktails and concerts) allowing the guests to take advantage of the multiple functions of the space available. To the Lounge have been added two side wings united by an impressive Portico, the ideal venue in fine weather conditions for cocktails, buffet lunches or concerts.
The vast Attic which can hold up to 450 people, is distinguished by a mighty trussed roof and ovoidal windows and is the ideal setting for exhibitions, presentations and banquets. The Park is the attractive setting for big marquees in support of the lounges of the Villa at events with more than 1000 participants, who will also have the vast inner parking area at their disposal. In the Villa, there is one fixed exhibition “Calzature d’autore” that brings together the most rappresentative models of the “Rossimoda Fashion Firm”, production in 50 years, which has for years been responsible for supplying footwear to the most famous fashion designers mondials.
