At the end of the 16th century the Venetian patricians Ferro built Villa Sorgato within a huge agricultural estate near the Postumia, the ancient roman street which joined Aquileia to Genova. During the 17th century the family became more important and the villa was enlarged with two wings and a colombera tower which was used for communications but also for defence because of the presence of bandits and soldiers in the open country. During the 18th century the relationship with the Habsburg Family became closer and closer so on the north facade was placed an impressive eagle, symbol of the Habsburgs and busts of the 12 emperors of the imperial Family. In the main hall legendary Sissi’s husband, Francesco Giuseppe I, is also represented.A lot of important people stayed in Villa.
From prince Ranieri, durind the First World War to the King Vittorio Emanuele III and the General Cadorna. The central body of the Villa has the typical structure of the Venetian Villas with precious floors in Venetian style well preserved and with wonderful girder on the Sansovino model. The Secular park of Villa Sorgato, of more than 33.000 square meters, has the traditional layout of the parks of the 18th century which decorated Venetian Villas and is enriched by secular plants. Villa Sorgato is a few minutes far from Treviso city center and airport, so it becomes the ideal location for business meetings, gala evenings, shows, photoshoots, fashion shows, films or for weddings and convivial meetings.
