The villa was probably built in the first half of 1500, committed by Counts Arnaldi from Vicenza. It presents a strong horizontal structure, with the main facades facing North and South. The large rectangular windows, with sills supported by worked stone and the internal layout of the villa, bring historians to presume that the building was designed by Antonio Francesco Olivera, follower of the great architect from Verona, Michele Sammicheli (1484-1559). It is possible to observe the typical architecture of Vicenza and of the sixteenth century in the central hall, now entirely restored, by looking at the original floors made in brickwork and at the interesting trusses of the wooden lacunar ceiling.
The frescoes of the main hall are in fair conditions, expecially the allegoric festoons surrounding doors and windows. Images of women, boys, ornaments and flowers that you can admire, induce art critics to confirm that such frescoes were painted by Paolo Caliari, with the cooperation of his followers Fasolo and Zelotti.The outho-uses that you can see from the garden in front of the house, are adorned with imposing ashlar columns, inspired to ancient roman models reviewed by Sammichele. The villa has a noble chapel, situated North of the house, open to religious rites and dedicated to Saint Rita.
