VILLA FOSCARINI CORNARO
Hotel 5 stars
Tuilt towards the middle of the 1500's, the Villa represents a beautiful example of renaissance architecture. The spacious porch “Porticato dei mascheroni”, distinguished by the typical 16th century rusticated ashlar, opens onto the beautiful Italian garden, adorned with statues, stone built wells and shadowed by centuries old plants, in particular by a gigantic oak and an imposing yew-treee. The whole complex is situated among the green countryside of the Venetian region, not far from Venice and Treviso and very close to the Roman city of Oderzo and it is easily accessable from the motorway. During the past centuries the Villa was the residence of the most important families of the venetian aristocracy (i.e. Morosini, Mocenigo, Foscarini and Cornaro), and it is situated at Gorgo al Monticano, adjacent to the Villa Revedin complex. Entirely restored, the Villa presents spacious halls, recently decorated with frescoes which recreate the atmosphere of a prestigious history linked to the life and splendour of the Serenissima, which during the middle of the 18th century shone with the ostentation of the aristocratic Elisabetta Cornaro. The hall of the “Quattro Stagioni” (Four Seasons) and the hall “Salone Cornaro” are considered ideal settings for parties, banquettes and weddings. The hall “Sala della Musica” and the piano-bar recreate the ideal atmosphere for pleasent evenings. The spacious hall “Salone dei Congressi” equipped with the most modern tecnologies, is perfect for business meetings and conferences and finally the dancing hall “Sala da ballo”, for the happy conclusion of each occasion. In the year 2002 a Hotel-Restaurant with twelve suites will be established.
